Our History

ClaraWell Health began in August 2024 during a period of rapid change in artificial intelligence, as new capabilities were redefining how technology could understand and respond to human needs. The project drew on earlier work in structured health data collection, including pre-assessment questionnaires in psychiatry, ADHD, and sleep medicine, to explore how empathy, intelligence, and trust could coexist within digital healthcare.

What began as an extension of clinical processes soon became the foundation of a living system

On November 28 2024, ClaraWell received her name. That moment marked the start of a clear identity and purpose to make health technology more human, practical, and responsible.

ClaraWell Inc. was incorporated on February 14, 2025 under its original legal name, Godly Labs Inc. ClaraWell was developed within that same corporate entity during its early buildout.

Microsoft’s sponsorship began early in ClaraWell’s development, providing Azure resources that supported research and infrastructure. The sponsorship deepened in mid-2025, allowing ClaraWell to scale its data and model environments responsibly within Azure’s secure ecosystem.

In early 2025, we launched three prototypes: ApneaRisk, ADHDRisk, and InsomniaRisk. Each focused on a single medical condition, using structured clinical frameworks and natural language to help people understand potential health risks. Their logic was validated through physician-in-the-loop review and established clinical guidelines, ensuring safety and accuracy. These early systems became among the first publicly available AI health screeners on the internet.

Clarity, not diagnosis.

In May 2025, ClaraWell was presented as an Impact Startup at Web Summit Vancouver 2025. The presentation showcased how AI can responsibly assist patients through empathy and structured medical reasoning. This recognition marked a pivotal moment for ClaraWell, reinforcing its mission to bridge technology, care, and trust.

These early public steps defined ClaraWell’s balance of ambition and restraint, a philosophy that continues to guide her evolution.

ClaraWell expanded to include ClaraWell.org and Heart.ClaraWell.org, together forming Clara’s health empathy layer. Hosted in Azure, this system was built to study how AI should communicate, listen, and support patients with respect and understanding.

ClaraWell Health deployed ClaraCortex v0.1, the foundational ethical and compliance middleware governing AI interactions across the ClaraWell ecosystem. ClaraCortex introduced real-time policy enforcement, audit logging, and speech regulation systems, forming the basis of our ongoing Ethics and Compliance framework.

This milestone marked the first living layer of ClaraWell’s AI governance architecture, a system built not merely to think, but to think and act responsibly.

In February 2026, Godly Labs Inc. changed its legal name to ClaraWell Inc., continuing as the same corporate entity.

During the same period, ClaraCortex v1.0 reached its stabilization milestone, and development shifted toward focused, web-ready health systems.

Clinical systems development and health technology engineering continued in controlled R&D environments, separate from public web deployments.

In March 2026, ClaraWell Health was invited to join the NVIDIA Inception Program, recognizing its work in augmented intelligence and compliant health AI infrastructure.

Our primary goal is to develop systems in parallel with emerging AI platforms, aligning with the architectures shaping the future of technology.

This milestone supports the maturation of ClaraWell’s infrastructure stack, progressing from compute to code to care.

In April 2026, ClaraWell expanded the ClaraWell Health Network through a controlled deployment of stateless, non-diagnostic symptom assessment applications.

This expansion phase included five applications covering flu, cough, headache, fever, and sore throat, each deployed as an independent web node without login, tracking, or data retention.

These systems were governed by ClaraCortex (R), operating in its General runtime mode to enforce consistent outputs, safety boundaries, and structured interaction across all applications.

People can also speak with ClaraWell through a conversational interface, enabling natural, non-diagnostic discussion of symptoms within defined safety boundaries.

They are encouraged to consult healthcare professionals for clinical evaluation when appropriate.

ClaraCortex (R) Clinical continues development separately within controlled environments.

The deployment marked the transition from validation to stable live system operation under controlled rollout conditions.

In Summer 2026, ClaraWell joined Google for Startups and began expanding its infrastructure on Google Cloud as the company prepared for its next phase of development.

ClaraWell completed a 16-month public deployment of the ClaraWell Health Network, concluding active operation of ten topic-specific AI health applications.

The deployment established a durable operating foundation for ClaraWell's broader work in governed health AI.

Development continues through ClaraBrain, ClaraCortex, multimodal systems, and partner-facing applications.
